Fridgy

What if your fridge could remember everything for you?

Fridgy keeps track of the food you have, warns you before it spoils, and helps you decide what to cook. You just tell it what you bought.

Read Sara's story

Works in English and Egyptian Arabic

Sara stops at the supermarket

On her way home from work, Sara picks up a few things: milk, eggs, vegetables and chicken.

She gets home and opens the fridge to put everything away. That's when she sees she already had milk and eggs, and a bag of vegetables she'd forgotten about since last week.

Sara walks into her kitchen carrying a bag of groceries while Fridgy waves hello.

Some of it had to go in the bin

The worst part? Some of those vegetables had already gone bad and had to be thrown away.

It isn't the first time this has happened to Sara, and it won't be the last.

So why does it keep happening?

Sara crouches in front of the open fridge, staring at forgotten vegetables that have spoiled.

The food we forget

The problem isn't only that we buy too much. It's that we don't always remember what we have, what's about to go off, and what we actually need.

  • "What are we eating today?"
  • "Do we have any tomatoes?"
  • "Is the milk still good?"

The same questions, every single day.

Sara sits at her laptop looking tired while a worried Fridgy holds its door open.

Food waste starts at home

Sara isn't alone. Most of the food the world throws away is thrown away in our own kitchens.

1.05 billion tonnes
of food wasted worldwide in 2022
60%
of that waste happens in households
79 kg
wasted at home per person, every year
1 billion meals
thrown away by households every day

Food loss and waste also produce 8 to 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions.

Why it keeps happening

  • We forget what's inside. So we buy milk and eggs we already have.
  • We can't see what's expiring. Vegetables go bad at the back of the shelf.
  • Tracking feels like admin. Spreadsheets and long forms get abandoned in a week.

Meet Fridgy

Fridgy remembers what's in your fridge, tells you what's about to expire, keeps track of what you need to buy, and suggests what to cook today.

  • No spreadsheets.
  • No long forms for every item.

You talk to Fridgy, and it keeps everything organized.

Sara smiles and shows the Fridgy app on her phone while Fridgy points at it.

Just tell Fridgy

Back to Sara. This time, when she gets home from the supermarket, she opens Fridgy and taps the assistant. She can type it or say it, in English or Egyptian Arabic.

Nothing changes until Sara confirms. Fridgy never guesses an expiry date she didn't give it, and it asks when something is missing.

Dinner, decided

Fridgy suggests recipes Sara can make with what she already has. It also noticed the spinach needs using soon, so the recipe that uses it comes first.

  1. Chicken and spinach stir-fryUses the spinach before it spoils
  2. ShakshukaEggs, tomatoes and peppers you already have
  3. Creamy tomato pastaReady in 20 minutes

Sara used to ask what she had. Now Fridgy helps her decide what to make with it.

Sara happily stirs a big bowl of salad next to Fridgy, whose shelves are neatly stocked.

After Fridgy, the question changed:

"What can I make with what I have?"

We're not building another app that logs food. We're building a smart assistant that makes managing food at home easier, saves time and money, and helps cut waste.

Because sometimes, the smartest way to save food isn't buying less. It's making better use of what you already have.

Meet Fridgy.
